EBG Knowledge event

EBG Federation Partnered with Deloitte to host the EBG Knowledge event on 30th April 2019 from 4 pm to 5.30 pm at the Deloitte India office. The speaker of the event Manish Sehgal (Partner, Deloitte India) who nationally leads the Privacy and Data Protection Services (PDP) at Deloitte India spoke about “Privacy and Data Protection no more an option”. Through his deep insight on Privacy and data protection he discussed the broad level impact that the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2018 will have on European MNCs who have a presence in India. The take away from the event was learning the importance of data protection. It was a comprehensive discussion on the privacy regulations and its importance. Some of the core reasons for increasing enablement of business growth were highlighted such as increasing awareness amongst customers; building goodwill, brand name and trust, and increasing civilian rights. Furthermore, the difficulties of data privacy highlighted at the event were explosive data growth; technology flawed by design and compliance focused mindset. Following the discussion was an interactive question and answer session and the event ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Raman Sidhu, Chairman, EBG.
